These are available from all the main walking centres in the Lake District.
If you would like to explore any of the fells (hills) of the English Lake District, let Knobbly Stick organise your trip for you. We can sort out high-quality accommodation in all the places you need to complete your Wainwrights, or just to get to some of the places the guide books don't mention.
As well as organising your hotel, or B&B if you prefer, we'll also supply you with all you need to explore the area you choose. For example, why not go to the western side of the Lake District, unspoiled Wasdale, the birthplace of British mountaineering? You can climb the big ones - Scafell and Scafell Pike, Great Gable and Pillar, or have a look at some of the lesser-known heights - Haycock and Middle Fell. We'll supply you with the necessary maps, how to get to the starting point of each walk by car or public transport, and, most importantly complete route notes for a grand day out and to get you back to your starting point. We can also organise self-guided packages for you from Keswick in the north, Grasmere and Ambleside in the south / central part, Glenridding in the central / east and Shap on the eastern fringes.
Discover places you'd probably never find on your own in this splendid area of northern England.
We can run holidays lasting a week or just a few days from the following:
As well as the high fells, we'll also give you extra guided walks in the valley or on lesser heights, in case you feel like a more leisurely day out, or if the weather is not so kind. We'll also include in your pack, the maps you'll need and all the information about the area, as well as a glossary of local words which may mean nothing if you've never been up this way before!
The hotels we use are (subject to availability):
In all of the towns and villages listed above, we can also arrange B&B/ pub accommodation if you would prefer that. Why not give us a ring or send us an email to talk about exactly what you would like?
| Price: | There are many variables but, for 2 people sharing a room on a single centre holiday in B&B accommodation for 5 nights, the price will be in the region of £300 per person. This excludes evening meals and packed lunches. Staying in one of the above hotels on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis would work out at around £550 per person, but this would depend on a number of variables - if you were planning to stay over a weekend, whether you share a room, time of year, and obviously, which hotel you use. As soon as we have discussed details with you, we'll be able to give you a firm price. Please get in touch to talk to us about it. |
