Designed by Alfred Wainwright, king of the guide book writers, the Coast to Coast walk across northern England from St Bees (on the Irish Sea) to Robin Hood's Bay (on the North Sea) is, quite rightly, one of the most famous walks in the world. It begins in the English Lake District and covers some 190 miles to finish in North Yorkshire. It has innumerable ups and downs on the way and is not for the faint-hearted; you cannot accomplish this walk without some degree of physical fitness. You will also need the ability to navigate in hill country, and most will need some sort of back-up to carry baggage.

If you do the Coast to Coast with Knobbly Stick, however, many of the difficulties simply disappear. You'll still need to be reasonably fit, but we'll provide you with route notes of our own, as well as the "official" guide book to help your navigation, and we organise the baggage transfer, so that you only need carry a day sack while you're out on the trail. We'll also provide you with back-up in terms of making sure that you have all the information you need to find a taxi or a bus if it all gets too much.you never know, after all.

Most importantly, we'll arrange all your accommodation so that you can devote your entire energy into putting one foot in front of the other rather than having to worry about where you're going to stay. In other words, we take the hassle out of the Coast to Coast.

As on our other self-guided walking holidays, your Coast to Coast accommodation is on a B&B basis in guest house, farm or pub. You will receive our self-guided walking holiday pack of route map, official guide book and our own personally researched and written route notes. Your holiday price also includes baggage transfer and a list of useful information such as public transport timetables and emergency services.

Price:

Per person, based on 2 people sharing is £700 for 15 nights accommodation (Farmhouse / guest house / pub style bed and breakfast). If you would like something other than the standard pack, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
