The Dales Way

The Dales Way runs for about 78 miles from Ilkley to Bowness on Windermere, right through some of England's finest and most interesting scenery. Obviously, if you are a superfit athlete, you could do it in a day or two, but we recommend a week, so that we can really appreciate the sights and sounds as we go along.

We spend night one in the Stone Cross Manor Hotel in Kendal, before setting off by road to Ilkley to start the walk. This is so people who have travelled by car will arrive back where their car is at the end of the walk - cunning, isn't it? We then walk days one, two and three staying every night at the Falcon Manor Hotel in the charming small town of Settle, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. After crossing from Yorkshire into Cumbria, we spend the remaining three nights back at the Stone Cross, as we complete the walk.

Your price for this holiday includes transport from Kendal to Ilkley at the start of the walk, a back-up service in case of bad weather, blisters, strained fetlock etc., guiding on the walk itself, and dinner, bed and breakfast at the these two very comfortable and welcoming hotels. Packed lunches are also included on walk days, plus transfer of your luggage where necessary.

We like to think of this route as a comfortable challenge, and a chance to experience some wonderful walking country, mostly along valley and river bank, but with a couple of excursions on to wilder moor land country.

Hotel: We spend the first night at the Stone Cross Manor Hotel, about 8 miles form junction 36 of the M6, or if you arrive at Oxenholme Station on the main West Coast line by train, we'll pick you up at no extra charge. We then move to the Falcon Manor Hotel in Settle.
Dates: Saturday 12th April to Saturday 19th April
Price: All inclusive for 7 hotel nights (dinner, bed and breakfast) and 6 days guided walking: £750 per person
