Usually, Knobbly Stick guided holidays concentrate on hotel breaks with dinner, bed and breakfast. But what about those people who are only looking for bed and breakfast, and who would prefer to go out in the evening to find a meal with maybe a few drinks? Well, that's why we've introduced for 2008 our bargain B&B breaks, based in Keswick, which is a really pleasant place to wander around in the evening, and where there are plenty of eateries - pubs serving food, or pizzerias, Indian and Chinese restaurants, as well as more traditional-style places to eat.
As for the walking, if you want high hills, there are some of the highest in England, including the highest of the lot, Scafell Pike, or if you just want to stroll along the lakeshore, or along a riverside, there's plenty for you to go at. And, what's more, there are plenty of intermediate heights to explore as well, and some lovely ridges to walk along.
