Enjoy some relaxed and relaxing hiking or walking in Ireland, France and Belgium on a Knobbly Stick holiday, as we go in search of the very best.
We currently offer walking and discovery holidays in County Mayo (Ireland) and the French Opal Coast. We will soon be launching new holidays in the Loire Valley, Flanders, Normandy and the English Lake District, and are now working on similar holidays in Brittany and the Champagne / Ardennes area of France.
The very best?
Oh yes. The glorious sweep of sandy beaches along the French Opal Coast – the best in France? Maybe.
The majestic and magnificent cathedral at Amiens on the river Somme – the best gothic building in France? Very possibly.
At least two of the breweries in Belgian Flanders – the best beer in the world? Many people say so.
The Atlantic ocean rolling in against the cliffs of Achill Island in County Mayo. The best coast walking in Ireland? It’d be hard to beat.
The “tin-bath” on the atmospheric footpath through the Clairmarais nature reserve near St Omer in northern France – the most bizarre ferry in France? We think so.
The Menin Gate at Ypres, where the Last Post is still played every single evening – the most moving War Memorial in Europe? There are few who would disagree.
The list could go on and on.
We can’t guarantee that you will agree with our assessment of what’s the best, but we will certainly have a lot of fun looking for it. What we can guarantee, though, is that you will get the best of care and attention on a Knobbly Stick break. We deal only in small group sizes (up to about 10) and there are two tour guides on every Knobbly Stick holiday so you will be free to choose from a choice of activities on every day. The very best of all worlds? Certainly.
